My Review: 9/10

This bite-sized drama definitely focuses more on adult situations as we enter the scene two months after a drunken mistake that has thoroughly messed up these two people's lives. To be honest, I generally don't care for my dramas crossing this line. I'm not real old, but I am old fashioned, I guess. However, I like that this deals a little with the aftermath of such a decision and shows how giving up your self-restraint can affect you as well as the other person involved. I like how dynamically different they made the two main characters and how they developed them in such a short amount of time. How their responses were different, as well as their expectations. It adds some conflict and some romantic tension. So, overall, I did really like this. As I said before, this is more adult because of the issue it deals with, but otherwise, it was relatively clean. No nudity, and even the memories looking back show the kiss that started it all, and the waking up. I am so very thankful that the vast majority of Korean dramas do not go into the uncomfortable detail they do here in the US.

Main Characters

Kim Rae Won

Kim Seon Ho played the passive artist Kim Rae Won. Generally, he was the one that just went along with things and I imagine really didn't do a lot of fighting back in the past. Even with the frustrating situation he finds himself in, he still ends up putting his own hurt aside quite often. Which, only opens himself up for more confusion as his counterpart works hard to get their past close relationship back to the way it was. I felt this is a character that suits Kim Seon Ho as I think it is similar to his real personality. At least from what I have gathered from his non-scripted shows and interviews. And, as expected he does an incredible job. This role did not stretch him very much as an actor, but I don't think it had to as he has already proven himself over and over again. He is definitely the character I felt the most for as we see glimpses of his heart, first in his obvious feelings for Eun Seong and then his regret and self-blame for his part in the situation. Amazing work by Kim Seon Ho.

Han Eun Seong

Lee Yoo Young played the headstrong Han Eun Seong. She was the one that was always taking the lead and forcing things one way or another. However, her fear of losing Rae Won in her life is the very thing that keeps him at arms length. She is the most in denial of her feelings, and yet she has a hard time controlling them, and because of this becomes some what of a vacillating personality. A confusion to our poor Rae Won. This is my first time seeing Lee Yoo Young act, and I felt she fit the role of this character well. It is hard to give a real good opinion of her acting since this short drama didn't really stretch her too far, but I would definitely be willing to watch more with this actress. She did a great job with this character.

Kim Rae Wan and Han Eun Seong

These two did have some great chemistry. The scene above is the one that started it all. It is also the scene that went viral on the internet bringing a lot of attention to Kim Seon Ho. Rae Won and Eun Seong, having been close friends for eight years, have naturally developed some deeper feelings. However, it would seem that with the fear of losing what they have, those feelings had been held in check. That is until, they end up drunk on Eun Seong's birthday and those restraints are broken. However, where Rae Wan would have willingly taken responsibility and stepped into that significant other role, Eun Seong took the other route and immediately wanted to pretend that nothing happened. Being the passive soft heart that he is, he lets her have her way, and even tries to move on himself. However, he can't, and in a heart-rending scene, to the fitting lyrics of a song written and sung by a guy wooing Eun Seong he sheds a tear while watching her. It was a beautiful scene, and though no words were spoken, an awful lot was communicated. Definitely some great acting and some great chemistry.

Conclusion

In the end, despite the nature of the situation, I really did like this short drama. It tugged my heart-strings, and I was amazed at how much I felt for these two despite the fact that it was only about two hours long. Truly the character/story development in Korean writing is phenomenal. It has turned me from a person who never watches Dramas/TV/Movies to someone who binge watches them. I am sorry to my home country, but forget the smut-filled surface fluff type of films we have here. I'll take a Korean work of art over it any day.

OST

Kim Sung Joo, who has a support role in the drama as Yoon Hee Nam (the other contender for Eun Seong's heart) plays and sings in the drama and for the drama's OST. It is this song that brings our main male lead to tears. Listen to the beautiful song below!
