My Summary

Sol Ah (Shin Ye Eun) is not a cat lover. But, after running into a love from her past, she finds herself the owner of one. This isn't any ordinary cat, however. There is something about Sol Ah that brings out a very different version of Hong Jo (Kim Myung Soo). A human version. Living in her father's new wife's house, she mistakes him for her wanderlust step-brother who she thinks has just stopped in for a bit during his travels. Seeming to appear whenever she is in need, she begins to fall in love with him. She finds herself torn between her past love, who wants back in, and her new found affection for Hong Jo. What will happen when she discovers the truth?

My Review: 8.5/10

I did give this drama a little lower rating than a lot of my others. This is really based mostly on the second half/ending of the drama. Overall, though, this one was super cute.

Kim Myung Soo plays the human Hong Jo... and honestly, could there be a better face for that role? I think not!
Just look at him! Lol! I think this is also why they chose him to play an angel in another drama. He just has that cute boyish innocence that makes him perfect for parts like these. I have seen him in a few dramas now but would love to see him in one that stretches him more out of this natural portrayal of him. Looking past his appearance, he did a great job as Hong Jo. It was fun to see how a cat would behave in society and it had to be hilarious on set as he sat in boxes and batted at toys hanging from bookbags, etc. His role was just super cute and I loved watching his affection for Sol Ah grow.

This was my first time seeing Shin Ye Eun in a role. I was a little torn on how well I felt she suited the role of Sol Ah, but she is a good actress regardless. I was able to see her in another drama later that I felt suited her better and I felt gave me a better image of her as an actress. Strangely, I felt this role almost too tame for her. If that makes sense? She has a smile that has a very mischievous look to it and I think that could serve her well in future roles. I think something more daring would suit her better. What do you think?

And then there is Jae Sun, played by Seo Ji Hoon. The past love of Sol Ah... it was a brief love (at least a brief acknowledgement of mutual feelings that had probably spanned years) that had ended due to a big misunderstanding, one that takes a good portion of the drama to clear up. However, though it was Jae Sun who ended the relationship, he clearly still has feelings for her and is very bothered by the relationship between Sol Ah and Hong Jo. Especially since he very early on discovers who Hong Jo really is.

Seo Ji Hoon's acting is great. I have seen him in two dramas as of the writing of this and really like him as an actor. Like Kim Myung Soo, he has a kind face, but he also can pull of a dangerous look as well. I think he could potentially be a very versatile actor and I look forward to seeing him try other roles.

As for the plot of the story. It was of course unique to what I have seen before. The story of a cat who only turns human when he is near a certain girl, or at least near her things. The reason for this remains unclear throughout the drama, but you find that it is something that has happened before. For the most part, I loved it. The first half especially was heart-warming and just pure fun to watch. As it progresses you start to see some problems arise, and for the sake of trying to avoid spoilers, I will leave it at that. I felt that there were a lot of things that just didn't have an explanation. Which, I guess is understandable... some mysterious things are unexplainable. However, it left me with a lot of questions at the end. And, really it left me sad. I had hoped for a happier ending than I got and was glad that I had read up a bit so I was prepared. It isn't a tragic end... nobody dies. It just, wasn't as satisfying as I would have liked. And, again... so many questions. Have you watched this drama? What do you think?
