My Review: 9.5/10

This is a drama that I feel has fallen sadly under the radar. I probably would have never heard of it if it weren't for my daughter being a fan of the webtoon it is based on. One of my favorite American series is Columbo. This drama gave me a very similar feel, almost as if it was the Korean version, which made me very happy. Dr. Frost is very intriguing with his unique abilities as well as his unique psychological condition. As a counselor at the university it is interesting to see him handle each case logically, using what he has studied about human behavior. He himself does not really have or, at least, doesn't show emotion. However, I got the impression that he did feel. There were many times throughout the show that it seemed, that even if he didn't recognize the emotion that he did have some sense of feeling it. There is an underlying plot throughout regarding the mystery behind Dr. Frost and a person who seems to be out to get him for some reason. But, each episode also deals with its own case. So, it brings something new to the table each episode. I found this VERY enjoyable to watch and I loved the characters. I would highly recommend watching this if you like mystery and crime dramas.

Dr. Frost

Song Chang Eui is the actor who plays Dr. Frost. I felt he was a perfect fit for the role. I have not seen him in any other drama, but I would love to see him again. This role, may not have stretched him a lot since there was very little emotional acting from him due to his character. However, we do get to see some glimpses of it. He was very believable though, and I found that his working chemistry with Yoon Sung Ah (Jung Eun Chae) to be very enjoyable to watch. Excellent acting by Song Chang Eui. The character of Dr. Frost is intriguing to me. A man who lacks emotion and yet is driven to help others. Out of curiosity? Or underlying unrecognized emotion? Who knows. But, there is something warm about him, and I enjoyed watching him grow.

Yoon Sung Ah

Yoon Sung Ah is played by the lovely young actress Jung Eun Chae. She fit the character of Miss Yoon perfectly. Her spunky personality, and tendency to chatter on seemed natural to this actress. She truly brought the character to life and you will not help but love Yoon Sung Ah in this drama. She pushes Dr. Frost into his uncomfortable zone, but it really helps him grow. She probably has just as much of an impact on his life as he does on hers.

Detective Nam Tae Bong

The last character I will highlight will be Detective Nam Tae Bong (played by Sung Ji Ru) as he was my next favorite character. Dr. Frost and Miss Yoon end up working with him in every episode (if I remember correctly). He is such a great character and personality. His backstory is a bit heartbreaking, but he isn't handicapped by it. Somehow I think maybe he looks back and uses it instead to give him strength. He has a lot of faith in Dr. Frost and seeks him out regularly. I love the team the three create. It is just a satisfying connection.

I really feel this drama deserves more attention. I don't know if it is the lack of availability? But, if you are able to find this drama online, I highly recommend watching it. Especially if you like crime dramas. I thoroughly enjoyed watching them solve each case, and also liked that the way they set it up, I had to figure it out alongside the characters. A must watch drama in my book!
