After watching Full House, my first Korean drama, I decided to choose two dramas that included the main actors, since I loved them both so much. This was the one I chose with Rain. The other, which I will review next, was Descendants of the Sun with Song Hye Kyo.

My Synopsis:

Lee Hyun Wook (Jeong Ji Hoon) is ruined after the tragic death of his girlfriend, Yoon So Eun, in an accident that he blames himself for. After hiding away from those he cares for, he is finally pulled back into life when a strange call from Yoon So Eun's sister leaves him with an option to redeem himself. Keeping his identity hidden he seeks to help Yoon Se Na (Krystal Jung) get back on her feet. Musically gifted, like her sister, he finds her a place in his family's company, ANA Entertainment. Against his better judgement and societal norms, they find themselves falling for each other. But, once she knows who he is, can she still love him?

My Review: 9/10

Going against the lower ratings you find online, I am giving this one a 9 out of 10. The drama was sweet. A kind of forbidden love type of story. And, a story of healing. Two hearts broken by the same tragedy find comfort in their growing relationship. Unfortunately, the secret hanging over their heads makes things very difficult for them both. Especially as Lee Hyun Wook is constantly aware of it and finds himself fighting between what he wants and what he feels is right. It's this struggle that seems to make me love this more. I felt the actors did an incredible job and their chemistry was believable. My only negative critique is in the ending... which was happy, so don't get me wrong. I just felt it could have been done in a way that was more satisfying. Avoiding any spoilers, that is all I will say about that.

Now, this isn't a straight up story between Lee Hyun Wook and Yoon Se Na. As Hyun Wook struggles with his feelings, another man contends for Se Na. He is such a convincing contender that a lot of negative reviews I find online come from the fact that Se Na did not end up with him instead. If you have watched the drama... what do you think? Are you Team Hyun Wook, or Team Shi Woo? I found myself torn as well... but more in the sense that I wanted her to end up with Hyun Wook to heal his hurt, but often found myself thinking that it would be better all around for her to be with Shi Woo. Oh, decisions.

Team Hyun Wook?

Or Team Shi Woo?
Who would you choose?

OST

As a bonus, both Krystal Jung (Yoon Se Na) and Kim Myung Soo (Shi Woo) had singing cameos in this drama. :) Enjoy!

Krystal Jung also sings the song "All Of a Sudden" on the OST for this drama. 😍
